Hi, my name is Stacy, and I am the creator and potter behind Urban Meadows Pottery.
My journey with pottery began during a challenging time. Like many others, having been isolated due to Covid, I felt the need to try break away and try something new. That's when I found myself stepping into my first pottery class, little did I know that this would become the beginning of a life changing adventure.
As I touched the clay for the first time, I was instantly captivated by its earthy smell, its grounding texture, and the therapeutic nature of shaping something beautiful from what is essentially mud. What started as a simple hobby quickly grew into a passion that drove me to build a studio and transform it into the fully-fledged business.
All my work is hand crafted in my little garden studio in South Manchester. Nestled away from the hustle and bustle of the city, it’s a peaceful space where I can slow down, connect with nature, and fully immerse myself in the rhythm of making (honestly, hours can often feel like minutes in there!)
Before starting this journey, I was a primary school teacher for six years. Teaching is still close to my heart, and so alongside making, I also enjoy running pottery workshops. I love having the opportunity to share my pottery skills with others, especially seeing the joy that comes when someone creates something they’re really proud of for the first time.
If you have any questions or want to learn more? I'd love to hear from you. Whether you are looking for a unique pot to showcase your favourite greenery or want to connect with your own creativity in one of my hands-on pottery workshops, I'm always happy to help.
